Terms of Service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
These terms are written in plain language on purpose. By creating an account at app.backupdrill.com or using the service, you agree to them. Questions? Email support@backupdrill.com.
1. Who we are
BackupDrill operates backupdrill.com and app.backupdrill.com — a subscription service that backs up Supabase projects (database and Storage files) to storage you own, and runs scheduled restore drills that verify those backups actually restore.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must have the right to connect and back up the data in the Supabase projects and buckets you configure. You must be able to form a binding contract to use paid plans.
3. Plans, billing, and refunds
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Paid plans are billed monthly, or annually at the price of 10 months. Plan prices and limits are listed on the pricing section.
- 14-day refund, no questions asked: if you are unhappy for any reason, email us within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it.
- You can cancel any time from the console; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
4. Your data and your bucket
Backups are written to your own S3, R2, or B2 bucket — never to our storage. During a backup, the bytes stream through our workers and are never written to our disks. During a restore drill, your snapshot is downloaded into an isolated temporary sandbox that exists only for that drill and is destroyed as soon as verification finishes. Because the bucket is yours, its retention, access control, and costs are yours too — and if you cancel, every snapshot in it remains yours. The sensitive data we do hold — your database connection string and bucket credentials — is stored sealed-box encrypted; see the privacy policy for the full picture.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use the service to back up data you have no right to process, don’t attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service, and don’t resell it without an agreement with us. We may suspend accounts that break these rules or don’t pay, after reasonable notice where practical.
6. What we promise — and what we can’t
We work to run backups and drills on schedule and to alert you when something fails. A passed drill means your latest snapshot restored successfully in our verification environment at that time — it is strong evidence, not an unconditional guarantee that any future restore of any snapshot will succeed. The service is provided “as is”; to the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect damages such as lost profits or lost data, especially where the failure lies in infrastructure we don’t control (your bucket, your Supabase project).
7. Termination
Delete your account any time; we then delete your stored connection strings and bucket credentials. Snapshots already written to your bucket are untouched — they are in your storage, not ours.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
